Dental Services Offered in Largo, FL Dentist Office

Metal-Free Alternatives

There are now many new metal free alternatives used for fillings, crowns and bridges. You can have mercury free fillings. New materials have been developed to the point where they provide the strength and durability required for long term wear. Not only do these metal free and mercury free alternatives look better, they actually strengthen the tooth, whereas metal fillings do not. These metal free alternatives also look natural and recreate the beauty and characteristics of natural teeth. Dr Panzarella will recommend the use of metal free, mercury free alternatives for fillings.

Bonded Porcelain Restorations

If  you have ever wanted to have the dramatic and beautiful appearance used by many models and actresses to correct and enhance their smiles,  porcelain veneers may work for you.   Porcelain veneers are used to repair cracked teeth, broken teeth, chipped teeth, gaps in your smile, or discolored teeth.

Dr. Panzarella will determine if you can benefit from porcelain veneers during a consultation appointment.  Then if porcelain veneers will benefit you, another appointment is set and during that appointment, a thin layer of enamel is removed from the teeth to be repaired with veneers and an impression is taken. Temporary porcelain veneers will be put on while the impression is sent to the dental lab that will create your custom permanent porcelain veneers.

When the permanent porcelain veneers arrive at the Largo dental office from the lab, the temporary ones will be removed and the permanent ones will be bonded to your teeth using a special procedure.  This assures a strong bond and results in a smile that  looks natural and beautiful.

Implant Dentistry

Implant dentistry can be used when a tooth has been lost. It can also be used to keep loose dentures in place. Implant dentistry is a procedure developed years ago when it was discovered that bone would fuse to titanium.  An artificial root can be placed where your tooth once was.  A porcelain crown is then cemented on top, effectively putting a tooth back where it originally was. Dental implants are an excellent replacement for  natural teeth that has been lost. Dental implants are permanent, and they do not decay.

Dr. Panzarella can answer any questions you may have about dental implants and how you could benefit from them.

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening will make your smile look healthy and bright. Discolored teeth result from staining due to red wine, coffee, tea, smoking, genetics, injury to the tooth or decay. In these cases teeth whitening can make a big difference. Dr. Panzarella can tell you if tooth whitening will be effective in your case.

There are circumstances where teeth whitening will be less effective, and in these cases, other treatments can be recommended. If the teeth are damaged, or stained from previous metal fillings, or in the case of staining from tetracycline or excessive fluoride another procedure may be recommended before teeth whitening is recommended. Dr. Panzarella will be able to answer your questions on what would work best for you.

If teeth whitening is recommended, an in office treatment can be done easily with usually one visit

Endodontics (Root Canal)

Every once in awhile the need arises to remove the pulp tissue from inside a tooth.  The procedure by which this is done is known as a root canal.  Although many patients have heard frightening stories about root canals, we are pleased to report that our patients are generally surprised by the lack of discomfort they experience.

Dentures and Partials

Dentures are an option if you have lost most  or all of your natural teeth. In many cases, partial dentures or bridges can be used.  If you have natural teeth missing, a removable device called a bridge or partial denture can be used to fill in the empty spaces and prevent the remaining teeth from moving out of position. Bridges or partials are helpful in stabilizing your bite, and providing a beautiful looking smile.

Dr Panzarella can help answer any questions you have about dentures, bridges or partial dentures.

Periodontal Care

‘Periodontal’ refers to the gums and bone around each tooth that act as the supporting structures. Periodontal disease, or gum disease, is the major cause of tooth loss, not decay.  Periodontal disease also causes bone loss and the bacteria present in gum disease has been found to potentially contribute to more severe health problems as it can leave the gums and enter the bloodstream.  Untreated periodontal disease can  then cause damage to the heart, lungs or an unborn fetus.   Because of this, periodontal disease is taken very seriously at Dr Panzarella’s office.

For over twenty five years, Dr Panzarella has successfully provided non-surgical gum therapy for his patients to help in the prevention of periodontal disease.
